Workshop on the Application of Pharmaceutical Work in Hospitals The Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy held a workshop for pharmacist students on the application of pharmaceutical work in hospitals. The workshop focused on pharmaceutical care, handling cytostatics, and aseptic techniques. It provided in-depth understanding and hands-on practice to improve student competence in the pharmaceutical industry. 03 September 2024

Community Service: Education and Training on Making Healthy Food by Utilizing Marine Products USU Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers successfully held an education and training program on making healthy seafood-based food for stunting prevention in Teluk Mengkudu, Serdang Bedagai. This program involves students in the application of MBKM and aims to increase public awareness about the importance of healthy nutrition. 03 September 2024

TALENTA Training for Staff The USU Human Resources Bureau organized TALENTA training for staff to improve service quality on campus, including the Faculty of Pharmacy. This training emphasizes strengthening the values of BINTANG and BERAKHLAK as well as direct practice in implementing the best service. 29 August 2024

Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with Prof. Bonglee Kim, M.D. (KMD)., Ph.D. The Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universitas Sumatera Utara held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with Prof. Bonglee Kim, Ph.D. from Kyung Hee University, Seoul, to discuss future collaboration opportunities, research, and Ph.D. programs. This discussion was also followed by the signing of an MoU to develop academic and business collaboration for the next 5 years. 28 August 2024

Doctoral Promotion Defense (Open Session) in the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara conducted a Doctoral Promotion Defense for Henny Sri Wahyuni on August 26, 2024. Her dissertation focused on virtual in silico screening and in vitro testing of multi-target inhibitor compounds that have potential as anticancer drug candidates. 27 August 2024

PKKMB of the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program, USU Faculty of Pharmacy The Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program (PSPA) of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy held PKKMB for the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year for 119 new students of the XXXVIII batch on August 19, 2024. This activity focused on lecture briefings and PKPA pharmacists, as well as case study briefings delivered by the Head and Secretary of the Study Program. 26 August 2024

Top Scientist Seminar with Prof. Bonglee Kim, M.D. (KMD), Ph.D., College of Korean Medicine, Kyung Hee University The Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universitas Sumatera Utara held a top scientist seminar themed “Korean Traditional Medicine and its Application” on August 22, 2024, with speaker Prof. Bonglee Kim from Kyung Hee University, South Korea. The seminar was attended by around 150 participants, discussing the importance of Korean medicine that emphasizes individual pathophysiology, as well as the great prospects for the development of traditional medicine in the future. 23 August 2024

Initiation of Pharmacoeconomic Research Collaboration between the Indonesian Ministry of Health and the USU Faculty of Pharmacy The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara received a visit from the Ministry of Health, Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices on August 20, 2024 to discuss the evaluation of pharmacoeconomic implementation of drugs in the National Formulary (Fornas). This visit also aims to expand networking with academics and explore the possibility of collaboration in pharmacoeconomic studies. 21 August 2024

USU Faculty of Pharmacy's PKKMB in 2024 PKKMB of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Sumatera Utara 2024 took place over three days with various activities, including academic and non-academic briefings, laboratory tours, and creative competitions at the Faculty of Pharmacy. New students participated in these activities with enthusiasm, displaying their talents and spirit in the Pharmacy Got Talent event and the Cation and Anion selection competition. 19 August 2024
