Community Service Collaboration between USU and IIUM: Formation of Smoking Cessation Companion Cadres 20 September 2024

Community Service: USU Faculty of Pharmacy and International Islamic University Malaysia Lecturers Provide Smoking Cessation Assistance to High School Students USU Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers in collaboration with the International Islamic University Malaysia carried out international service for smoking cessation assistance at SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura, Langkat. The service team explained the smoking cessation method and distributed educational books to students, Wednesday (21/8). 20 September 2024

USU's Visit to PT Socfin Indonesia (Socfindo) Universitas Sumatera Utara conducted a benchmarking visit to PT Socfin Indonesia to see the Taman Obat Keluarga project with more than 1500 plant species. This visit aims to develop Medical Plant Conservation at USU as a center for research and innovation in the fields of pharmacy and medicine. 20 September 2024

Orientation of Pharmacist Professional Education Students at RSUD Dr. Pirngadi, Medan City The Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy handed over the XXXVII batch of PSPPA students for Professional Work Practice at Dr. Pirngadi Hospital on July 2, 2024. The orientation included education related to PMKP, K3RS management, and Basic Life Support (BLS) training to prepare students for hospital practice. 20 September 2024

Community Service: USU Faculty of Pharmacy Lecturers Conduct Community Service to Support the Movement to Prevent Stunting in Medan Sunggal Sub-District USU Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers held a Community Service program at Medan Sunggal Sub-district, focusing on the fortification of moringa leaves and mung bean flour in cookies as an effort to prevent stunting in toddlers. This program aims to support the national movement to prevent stunting through local food innovation and education to the community. 19 September 2024

Visit of the Directorate of Standardization of Traditional Medicines, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics of the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (POM) The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Universitas Sumatera Utara received a visit from BPOM to discuss the application of nanomaterials in natural medicines and their standardization. The visit included material presentation by experts as well as a visit to the nanomedicine research laboratory. 10 September 2024

Master Plan for Implementation of Village Building Program (KKNT) of Universitas Sumatera Utara 2024 The USU KKNT PPM Coordinator Team held a socialization at the Faculty of Pharmacy regarding the village building program on Friday, August 30, 2024. The program is open to 5th and 7th semester students, with placements in various districts and offers various benefits, including living cost assistance and credit recognition. 06 September 2024

Community Service: USU Lecturers Educate Weavers to Use Natural Dyes Universitas Sumatera Utara lecturers conducted community service in Bandar Khalipah Village, Percut Sei Tuan Sub-district, by providing education on the technology of making natural fabric dyes to the weaving community. This program aims to increase the value of Malay weaving products using natural materials such as turmeric and merbau wood. 05 September 2024

Workshop on the Application of Pharmaceutical Work in Hospitals The Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy held a workshop for pharmacist students on the application of pharmaceutical work in hospitals. The workshop focused on pharmaceutical care, handling cytostatics, and aseptic techniques. It provided in-depth understanding and hands-on practice to improve student competence in the pharmaceutical industry. 03 September 2024

Community Service: Education and Training on Making Healthy Food by Utilizing Marine Products USU Faculty of Pharmacy lecturers successfully held an education and training program on making healthy seafood-based food for stunting prevention in Teluk Mengkudu, Serdang Bedagai. This program involves students in the application of MBKM and aims to increase public awareness about the importance of healthy nutrition. 03 September 2024
