Faculty of Pharmacy Lecturer Receives Indonesian Collaborative Research Program (RKI) Grant for Antidiabetic Candidate Research HUMAS FARMASI USU – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara has once again achieved a remarkable accomplishment through the success of one of its lecturers, Emil Salim, S.Farm., M.Sc., Ph.D., Apt., in securing a grant from the Indonesian Collaborative Research Program (RKI). In this grant program, Emil Salim serves as the principal investigator for a research project entitled “Metabolomics of Lansium domesticum Varieties and Synthesis of Aurone Derivatives as Antidiabetic Candidates: In Silico, In Vitro, and In Vivo Studies.” 20 May 2026

Prof. Yuandani of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy Involved in National Collaborative Research on Obesity and Inflammation HUMAS FARMASI USU – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara has once again demonstrated its contribution to the advancement of national research through the involvement of one of its lecturers, Prof. Yuandani, S.Farm., M.Si., Ph.D., Apt., in the Indonesian Collaborative Research Program (RKI). In this program, Prof. Yuandani serves as a member of the research team in a study focusing on the development of natural product-based therapies for obesity and metabolic disorders. 20 May 2026

USU Faculty of Pharmacy Receives Visit from Prof. Dr. Hina Siddiqui to Strengthen International Collaboration PHARMACY USU PUBLIC RELATIONS – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara welcomed an academic visit from Prof. Dr. Hina Siddiqui from the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi. Prof. Hina Siddiqui is also recognized as a COMSTECH Distinguished Scholar actively engaged in research and development in the fields of organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. 11 May 2026

USU Faculty of Pharmacy Organizes Visiting Professor Workshop in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry PHARMACY USU PUBLIC RELATIONS – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara successfully organized a Workshop on Visiting Professor in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry featuring international academic and researcher Prof. Dr. Hina Siddiqui from the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, University of Karachi, Pakistan, who is also a COMSTECH Distinguished Scholar. The event was held on Tuesday–Wednesday, May 5–6, 2026, from 09.00 a.m. to 04.00 p.m. at the Faculty of Pharmacy USU. 11 May 2026

Handover Ceremony of the Leadership of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy from the 2021–2026 Period to the 2026–2031 Period PHARMACY USU PUBLIC RELATIONS – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara held a Leadership Handover Ceremony from the 2021–2026 administration to the 2026–2031 administration on Thursday, May 7, 2026, starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Pharmacy USU. Visiting Professor Guest Lecture at USU Faculty of Pharmacy Discusses the Synthesis of Bioactive Compounds for the Advancement of Modern Pharmaceutical Science The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Sumatera Utara once again organized an international academic event through the Guest Lecture Visiting Professor on Organic and Medical Chemistry under the theme “For Scientific Lecture Design and Synthesis of New Bioactive Heterocyclic Compounds: Synthesis, In Vitro and Silico Studies.” The event was held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 09.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. at the Faculty of Pharmacy USU and featured international speaker Prof. dr.
